It’s possible - you can do it

So…you have decided that you want to buy in the Baltics: in Estonia, Lithuania or Latvia.

How long ago did you decide on that? Is it something that you have only just decided or is it something that you have long wanted and just not got yourself moving on? If the latter, then this is for you.

I must confess that I am a bit of a procrastinator, but once I decided to move abroad, I had to motivate myself – and perhaps you do too!  How to do that? Well, this is what worked for me: it’s all about excitement, enthusiasm and a goal that will ultimately make you happy.

You may be buying a property to move, to secure for your retirement or perhaps to holiday in, but what ever your reason the first thing is to decide exactly where you are going to buy. There is nothing quite as motivating as deciding on a property that you really, really want – it does get you energized The location is essential, the exact property even better. Visit your county of choice, preferably in a quieter season, and keep going until you find what you want. Chatting to someone the other day, he decided on a house that at first he hadn’t thought was ‘The One’, but he had taken his tick-lists out of the Overseas Buying Guide with him and found at the end of his search that it ticked all the boxes!  !

The other thing I have found is that you need to be sure that you are not paying too much for the property – there is nothing quite as de-motivating as worrying endlessly about finances. To assist you here I would recommend a good currency company – Smart Currency Exchange is one such – that will ensure that you have covered all your bases and that your exchange rate doesn’t suddenly go against you.

Make a list of what you need to do to reach your end goal, and factor in dates that you want to achieve goals by. What ever your reasons for buying in the Baltics you CAN make it happen but you need to motivate yourself – many others have done what you want to do and made it work for them…so can you.
